SWOT and SMART Objectives
We discussed the importance of adhering to uniform policy during the external placement and during sessions in clinical simulation centre. The trainee nursing associates have professional responsibility to comply with the policy in accordance with NMC Code of practice. Also, ordered uniforms for all the students.
We looked at SWOT and SMART goals which are two powerful tools that enables us to measure and track our professional objectives in a timely manner. This is especially useful when writing our assignments.
We conducted practice learning in the clinical simulation room. We practised how to check patient vital signs such as Oxygen saturation level, pulse, and respiratory rate. The respiratory rate is a key vital sign to detect early changes when monitoring or investigating unwell patient.
During the practical nursing skills session, we practiced on each other and manikins to take the vital signs such as respiratory rate, pulse rate and oxygen saturation. These vital signs measurements are important aspect of patient’s assessment.
As a trainee nursing associate, the skills that I learnt to today will help me during the placement while enhance my confident and I will be able to apply the skills in the clinical setting.
