Title of learning activity: Introduction to Nursing Associate Apprenticeship

What

Starting my nursing associate training has been a valuable learning experience, introducing me to essential skills such as time management, communication, goal setting, and independent learning. I found managing my time to be a challenge at first, balancing academic work, practical training, and personal life. communication  has also been a key focus, as I learned how to interact effectively with patients,  their families, and colleagues. setting goals helped me stay organised and motivated, while independent learning encourage me to take responsibility for my development and seek out additional resources to enhance my understanding.

So what

These experiences have highlighted the importance of these skills in my role. time management ensures that I can prioritise tasks and provide safe, efficient care. communication is essential for building trust with patients and working effectively within a team. goal setting has given me a clear sense of direction, helping me focus on area where I want to improve. Independent learning has taught me to take initiative, which is crucial in a healthcare setting where knowledge and skills are not only helping  me grow professionally but also boosting my confidence in handling challenges.

Now what

To continue developing, I plan to create a structured daily routine to better manage my time and balance my responsibilities.  I will seek opportunities to strengthen my communication skills, such as by asking for feedback and observing experienced nurses. to support my personal and professional growth I aim to expand my independent learning by  exploring new resources, attending training sessions,  and staying updated with best practices in nursing care.

This reflection has helped me understand how these skills shaping my journey as a nursing associate student to grow further in this role.
