Reflection on Learning Activity (include model of reflection e.g. Driscoll or Gibbs):
On today’s session we were able to discuss the Role of the Nursing Associate. We identify the difference between HCA, NA, RN. During a group work we were preparing a presentation regarding certain topics such as:
- Accountability – being responsible for your thoughts, words and actions.
- Professionalism – conduct, behaviour and attitude of someone in a work environment.
- NMC Code – The Code presents the professional standards that nurses, midwives and nursing associates must uphold to be registered to practise in the UK. It’s structured around four topics:
– prioritize people
– practice effectively
– preserve safety
– promote professionalism and trust
We were discussing Study Skills Seminar. We found out how to read a paper/ Soler to Surety.
We indicate which parts of newspaper article are important to read in order to get a proper information:
– title
– abstract
– conclusion
We have been introduced to the VARK. Each student has done the VARK Questionnaire to identify the individual learning type. Most of us are Multi – Model Learners
This session helped me to understand the difference between the Healthcare Professional roles and accountability which are assigned to the certain role in nursing fields.
I will be more confident in setting up the high standards at workplace and showing to others, that I care about every aspect of my job. Because my goal is to be registered to practice as a Nurse in the UK.
KSBs addressed:
K1: Understand the Code: Professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses, midwives and nursing associates (NMC, 2018), and how to fulfil all registration requirements
K2: Understand the demands of professional practice and demonstrate how to recognise signs of vulnerability in themselves or their colleagues and the action required to minimise risks to health
K7: Understand the importance of courage and transparency and apply the Duty of Candour
