This week we took a moment to relook at the topics we had discussed in class and were asked if anything really stood out to us. There was great discussion over the large houses based on Whitelands and Froebel, and also over the religious foundations of Roehampton University. I made the point that it is remarkable that we are able to know a great deal about the foundations, history and architecture of each of the practicing religion found on campus. We then briefly discussed potential project ideas and how the best way to go about finding and deciding on relevant content. I still think I am interested in creating a small video for my project, but I am now contemplating creating an educational handout about either, one of the country houses or about an induvial and how their life effected Roehampton. We looked at an example of how go about finding relevant information for Eunice Kennedy Shriver, and how to make the project eye catching and appealing to the audience. This was an incredibly useful exercise as I am now more aware of how to obtain relevant information, with a clear and concise goal of what I want to include, without feeling like I am aimlessly researching my chosen topic.
Next week we are looking at the Froebel archives and how to use them, which will be a great help when it comes to finding relevant content for both my essay and project, dependent on the subject matter of both assessments.
