Hello! Welcome to The Yout!
My name is Hajar and I am currently an undergraduate student of Sociology at the University of Roehampton. As a young person and a woman of colour, it is very clear to see that we are at a time of increasing inequality and it doesn’t help that we are a generation that is infamous for its lack of political engagement from its youth! This blog aims to change that by providing a fresh and safe space to express all political views and to promote and normalise public debates and political discourse among young people.
In these blogs I will be exploring the issues of young people and their political disengagement and the subject of inequalities around political engagement as part of my Active Citizenship and Political Socialisation module. I hope you enjoy reading and make sure to share, like and comment! 😉
