Academic Feedback
- Placement 1
Well done on successfully completing your first placement. You have clearly worked extremely hard and the feedback you have received reflects this. You should be very proud of this achievement. Feedback on areas you have completed to aid future development:
- You completed your reflection on the professional values successfully but should aim to write more in future placements to relate your practice to the NMC Code and show the relationship between theory and practice. This will help to demonstrate the development of your knowledge in these areas.
- You completed 150hrs in practice. You will need to consider how you will make up the hours deficit (150hrs) over your next placements to meet the hours requirement for the programme. There are some areas you did not begin to complete during this placement and will need to prioritise in your next placement to successfully complete the Part:
- You will need to get ALL your proficiencies signed off in your next placement as they have not all been completed successfully in this placement.
- You will need to complete summative episode of care in your next placement. Please continue to develop your writing style and refer to the learning outcomes.
- It is important to obtain patient and peer feedback. Please ensure you do this in your next placement.
- It is expected to work a range of shifts during your training so please ensure that you work across day, night, twilight and weekend shifts when the opportunity arises.
I hope this feedback is useful. Please contact me if you wish to discuss your feedback in greater detail.

- Placement 2
Well done for completing the outstanding areas for this placement. I note that you have not included any service user feedback. Please consider this for future placements as feedback helps show whoever is marking how you are perceived whilst in clinical practice. You also have some part specific requirements outstanding which will need to be completed at the beginning of year 2 placement 1 before you can be signed off as successfully completing part 1:
- Proficiencies 22 & 24
- Summative Episode of Care
- End of part approval (to be completed by PA)
Please consider how you will be aiming to achieve these requirements and contact your AGT to discuss should you wish to access tutorial support. I hope this feedback is useful. Please contact me if you wish to discuss your feedback in greater detail.

Professional Feedback
- Placement 1
Valerie & PS (Practice Supervisor) agree that placement is progressing well & Valerie has been able to involve herself with many ward activities. PS said that Valerie is an excellent student. They will set a date for completing Final Interview shortly. We also discussed using the extra placement time as an opportunity to get some proficiency assessments done.
Valerie has been noted to be a very keen to learn new things especially with her clinical skills. She always projects a positive learning attitude and being proactive in her own learning. The staff she had worked with stated that Valerie has been always professional whenever she comes on shifts and has built good rapport with the team. She has become a valuable team player in the ward. She has been observed to be caring towards the patients and initiating help towards staff members. The staff also mentioned that she always reports to shifts on time and has maintained professionalism in calling the unit whenever she is unable to attend placement.
Valerie will benefit from getting opportunities for medication administration so she can be signed off as she was unable to undertake this in this placement. She will also need practice in drug calculations just for mastery. Valerie can also brush up on her knowledge of the normal values for the NEWS2 parameters including the frequency of monitoring based on the score.
- Placement 2
I can confirm that Valerie was an excellent addition to our team and has excellent communication skills, works well as part of a team and has the ability to adapt to change.
