25.02.19 (9am – 4pm)

This day was more of an induction day where I spent the day reading a lot of the school policies and rules. For example, health and safety at work act, safeguarding children and learning the college’s schedule / timetable. I read through the curriculum for BTEC Level 2 in sport, BTEC Level 3 in sport and A Level PE. This gave me an understanding of all the units that they have completed, currently completing and still have left to do.

Due to one of the teacher’s being off sick, I was asked to supervise his class to ensure there were no behavioural issues amongst the students. I felt up for the challenge but also was a bit nervous as I have no classroom experience. Luckily, the students were respectful and everything went well.

Overall, this day was quite tedious as it involved a lot of reading and learning about the college and it’s curriculum within the PE department. I introduced myself to all the teachers within the department and informed them that I will be around for a few weeks.
