Week Four and Five: February 17th-24th

Now split into three groups (one for each act), it’s become apparent that certain members of the class are more dedicated, punctual, and reliable than others. The question needed to be asked: would we keep putting our fate in their (absent) hands? We agreed to re-organise the group, placing those who barely surfaced into the simple opening act, having already done half of the work for them. This decision left us with the remaining, recurring actors, who were split between the two remaining acts. I chose the third act, and work began slowly, having spent the first few weeks analysing everything about not only the play itself, but our strengths. Whether it be tying knots, basic martial arts, or something to do with music, we learned to rely on each other to fill in any missing gaps or to tug on possible leads. I, for example, utilised my knowledge of David Bowie, Sigur Rós, and classical music to compile a short playlist for both rehearsals and a possible set to be used in the final production.
