My name is Naomi, and I am a passionate teacher trainee. I enjoy teaching because it gives me the opportunity to help those who need it and develop young children for later life. I also enjoy sports and providing all children with the oppertunity to involve themselves within these. In my opinion all subjects should have a physical aspect to a child’s learning.
Physical education is a part of every day life and in my opinion should be inclusive to everyone and anyone. It should develop an indivuals emotional, social, physical and cognitive skills.
My physical education learning journey began at the age of 4 when I began swimming. I swam competitively until I was introduced to football. By the age of 10 I was scouted for West Ham ladies and developed my skill and passion with them for 7 years. Throughout that period I experienced some amazing events. I was lucky enough to win several cup and league competitions, as well as playing at different stadiums. Two of the greatest memories involve playing at Bolton stadium and representing England in the tesco cup. This resulted in us beating Scotland in the final. The second involved winning a tournament leading my team to help out at the champion leagues final by carrying the famous flag during the opening act. I now play for Thurrock twice a week. This has provided we with more confidence and encouraged me to play different sports competitively throughout secondary including: netball, rounders, swimming, athletics, badminton and cross country.
Over the years I have done PE GCSE and A level, developing my knowledge further. I spent my year 10 work experience working with a PE department for two weeks, teaching and coaching different sports and helping out in sports day. I have a referee badge and have done some live saving sessions.
I have worked as a nursery assistent since 2013 and have worked myself up as being third in charge. I have done a variety of courses in this period of time including:
- being 2
- equality and diversity
- characteristics of learning
- Eal
I have previously volunteered in a single parent group “Gingerbread group” as well as doing baby sitting and nannying roles.
I have recently worked for a summer camp called “barracudas”. Here I worked with children from the ages 4-16 in a variety of physical activities including:
- football
- swimming
- athletics
- go karts
- bouncy castle e.t.c
