Feedback (Continence Nurse Specialist)
Continence Nurse Specialist.
Student nurse Samira worked with me in the community for a day
We visited a patient who needed a trial without a catheter for urine rotation. Student Nurse Samira observed how a bladder scan was performed and how trial urinary catheter was removed. We did an incontinent pad assessment on a lady suffering from urgency and could not get to the toilet on time. We visited a patient who had a prostectomy a week ago. She observes the catheter being removed and checks the abdominal wounds for signs of infection. Student nurse Samira gained knowledge of different incontinent pads being used for stress and urgency incontinent patients. She learned about the importance of pelvic floor exercises and diets. Student nurse Samira also gained knowledge about caring for catheters and the different types of catheters that are available in the community.
Peer Feedback (Diabetes Team)
Samiratu is a student like myself. I see in her a student who is professional every time she is at placement. Samira as we call her has shared with me ideas and her understanding about diabetes. Samira is always ready and willing to answer any questions I ask her. She maintains the policy of the trust. I see in her a nurse who is ready to maximise patient over all well being in the future.
