Asynchronous – when learning can take place at any time – the learner can choose a time to access the education.

Synchronous – When learning occurs at the same time – all people are involved at one time.

Blended Learning – A mixture of learning methods – instructor led learning with electronic resources to assist the       learning.

Cognitive load – How the brain stores memory in order to access relevant information to complete tasks.

Coding – A way of programming software in order to create interactive media.

Self actualization –  refers a person’s values, outlook, social role and identity.

Summative assessment – assessment at the end of the learning process (end of term / end of year) – assessment of learning.

Formative assessment – assessment as the learning takes place – guidance and marking current work – assessment for learning.
