Title ; Principles of pharmacology

Pharmacology is the science that examines the composition , effect and the use of drugs.

In this section we learnt about understanding of medication and the motive achieved in given the medication.

We discussed about how antibiotics work to stop bacteria multiplying and this takes about 2 to 3 days to feel better after taking the antibiotics because that is when the bacteria dies.

We also understand that antibiotics is best taken at the correct time for it to help work betterto treat the bacteria.

WE learnt about Kinetics which is the movement of the drug and Dynamic which is the volume..we also discussed about how the body process the drug which is broken down into 4 stages which is

A -absorption  D – distribution   M – metabolism  E – excretion

all medication goes through the liver which have action on the medication absorbed before it goes through the stomach and also to the rectum.

The liver takes about 30% of any medication absorbed through the mouth.

lastly we discuss about the different route in which medication is taken  we have Enteral, Parental and Topical.

Going forward i have learnt the importance of taking Antibiotics at set times to help it work well to fight the bacteria , also I now know how the body process drugs administered.
