A review of the impact of ICT on learning. European Commission, Joint Research Centre, Working Paper prepared for DG EAC.
This article talks a lot about how ICT will be expanding and developing in the future, it will also have a massive effect on learning. They discussed HELIOS Observatory on eLearning, this explains that eLearning is not just classroom based but can also be practically used anywhere as its not just a single Phenome (P:6). The diagram explains the impact of ICT education going to building skills training for employment, self-development and showing how to be an active member of society. When HELIOS studied the progress of eLearning they only limited themselves to three European countries which can be a limitation because in other places in the world such as China are always developing advanced technology and ship their work worldwide( Mullen, 2016). They did successfully add the four ranking leaders of ICT in Europe, but why are these countries high advanced? What this article could have considered is the economical income of the places and the trade these countries have. The article looked at the different range of ICT learning, what they could have included is home based ICT work, children seem to be networking a lot in this generation especially with the media, so work does not just stop at school. Computers seem to help the curriculum in a lot of levels such as maths states the article, however it does give an argument of how ICT has not completely fixed the teaching methods. They then go further to expressing views about mobile gaming to get the children’s attention. The article makes a good argument for Eportfolioes stating that the outcomes of the development can only be successful if the teacher behind it is trained and knows exactly what they are seeking for otherwise the project is just neglected and not used in the form it is expected to.
