I have a problem. I don’t have a solution for it yet. There’s a bit of head scratching, some random(ish) solution options are tried out, some further pondering, a break to make a coffee and then I come back to my problem. I’ve now had time to really understand the problem and break it down into smaller chunks to analyse. These small problem chunks might have a bit of familiarity with previous problems I’ve solved. I can pull out the key elements for each of these and see how they may fit into the overall solution for my problem. A bit like a jigsaw where each piece plays a part in the overall picture each of my solution chunks holds a bit of the key to my problem. And that in my head is a bit like computational thinking. Try it out for a problem you have, just don’t forget the key step – a break to make a coffee!!
