Title: Special Senses system
What?
Learning about the different sensory systems on a self directed study
So what?
I have learned about the different parts of the ears and how that the earwax helps not only prevent the growth of bacteria but is also has a protective function of the ears. I learned as well about the eyes and how, the senses of the eyes are important to make note with individuals who are unable to properly verbalise and use eye contact as their main approach of non verbal communication.
Now what?
By learning about the special senses this has helped me with understanding what are the things I can do to support my patients and how I can actively support my patients through the support of the speech language therapist.
