  1. My first academic year at Roehampton University has been a tremendous journey but very exciting at the same time. I have been exposed to a lot of clinical practice whilst on placement and simulation at the university. I have also had the opportunity to study and practice academic writing, initially it was not easy to get down to it due to the fact that I did most of my academics in another country where their teaching method was quite different from what I am experiencing currently, but I felt I needed more exposure and practice to gain a deeper understanding on how to do academic writing, this was after our very first formative academic writing on professional values which I had a low score and was not too happy about it. I arranged a meeting with my AGT Lucy who pointed out some important facts to me and I also arranged meeting with Academic Librarian and the Academic achievement team, and those meetings proved to also point me in the right direction. I went further to update myself through the writing skills hub and other materials on academic and critical writing. And currently I will say that I am continuously building on my academic writing skills and also gradually gaining competence in this aspect of my studies.
