What are my Strengths?

 I’m hardworking and well organised

I am punctual to classes and attend all my lectures.

Passionate about this course.

I am motivated to learning.

I am a good team player both at university and placement.

I work efficiently and effectively with my patients and nurses during placement.

I take observations well at placement.

I get compliments most times at during my clinical placements.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

How can I Build on my strengths?

 

Remember to always put on my alarm so I could always be punctual

Keep being hardworking and not slack off

Keep learning more by visiting  the Moodle site or the library.

Keep it going and don’t give up.

What are areas of Weakness?

I tend to procrastinate a lot of times.

I have trouble speaking in front of a large group of people. I find it intimidating.

I’m shy.

I don’t really know how to voice out my opinions.

I don’t really know how to borrow books from the library.

I worry about speaking to a large group because of my accent.

I have trouble writing academic essay.

Not very good at taking manual blood pressure.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

How can I Eliminate the weaknesses?

 

Read more books.

Ask one of the librarians for help on how to borrow academic books.

Avoid procrastination and set a time to get my work done.

Always ensure I participate however big or small my input.

I shouldn’t dwell much on my mistakes-let things go sometimes.

Practice more on how to use the manual blood pressure machine.

 

What Opportunities are there?

 

Access to varieties of books in the library which could aid studies.

How can I Exploit (make good use of) the opportunities?

 

Regular visits to the library to borrow books.

Ensuring that you harness every knowledge about different things in your placements.

Ensuring you go to other different wards to learn something new.

How have I developed over the last year?

(Consider challenges you have experienced, whether expected or unexpected, learning gained and experiences you have had)

 

§  I’ve been able to confidently take on patients in terms of bed side care, holistic assessment, note taking and learning new things for example working a team, communicating effectively although it hasn’t been essay cause I’m a shy person but I had to push myself

§  I’ve been able to learn a lot of things during simulations such as observations, wound dressing, injection techniques, medication management and during lectures for example ANPPCC, DPR from the professors which would also be of great assistance in the future.

§  Also getting to work in different healthcare settings during clinical placement has been very helpful and I’ve learnt quite a few different things.

 

What I am looking forward to in the next year?

§  I’m looking forward to a variety of new placements for the new year, exploring different healthcare sectors and harnessing my knowledge.

§  I’m looking forward to new simulation practices in Mary Seacole building and spending time again with my friends and classmates.

§  I’m also looking forward to the new courses we have for this year especially Medicine management because I love Mathematics.

 

 

 

What I am hoping to achieve over the next year?

§  I am looking forward to passing every of my examinations and getting a better understanding in the new courses for the year.

§  I am hoping to gain new knowledge on various skills during my clinical placements and ensuring that all my required skills are signed off on my EPAD.

§  I am also looking forward to getting back to learning various skills during simulation classes.
