This week has been harder than expected as I was planning on going to the archives on Friday but due to the weather, this has not been possible. Instead, I have looked up the McNair Report and started to read through this looking specifically at the changes to teacher training, women teacher’s pay and anything surrounding the training of female teachers.

While reading the McNair report it has brought to life some other reports and education acts from around the time that could be useful in determining the transformative effects of the second world war on education. I plan on going to the Archives next week and trying to find out more information about the war period itself, as well as the time periods immediately before and after the Second World War.
