Week 25 – Short Presentations with peer-observation
Today I presented to the class the progress of my project. I realised that I still have a fair way to go and that many of the sources I have found have some bias in them. This is especially prominent when looking at exerts from the chronicles that were written by students but ultimately published by the college. Through being published by the college this allows for the articles to only present what the college wishes to reveal to the alumni and parents, diminishing the first-hand accounts of students.
I was planning on heading to the archives this week however, the archivist is away on business for the society until Friday 23rd March 2018. So progress on my project seemed to have come to a halt until meeting with Seb and discussing the next steps for my project.
It was decided that the British library may give me more access to different books and resources that could be relevant to my title.
Following some research and searching, I have found a list of titles of journal entries and books that sound relevant to my title and I plan on visiting the British Library on Monday 19th March 2018 and returning to the archives on Friday 23rd March 2018.
