Title of learning activity: Developing Professional and academic skill
Diary of Learning activity:
During the fourth day we met our new teacher , Maria, she is the lead for the module Developing professional and academic skills. I thought she is very charming and engaging, she explained in detail the module and what she will be expecting from us during the course .Moreover, she showed us the list of books that we will need to read and made us choice which one was fitting best for us. After a little break , we went back to class and we reviewed the structure of the assignment and Maria explained step by step how to successfully complete the task. I thought was great to understand how to complete the task especially because in my case , in Italy during university I never had the opportunity to write an essay. Even though I felt was a great idea to get it explained, I have noticed that some of my classmates have started to feel the pressure. I am, very happy overall because I feel like I am getting in the loop of the university life. After lunch we talked about how to look after ourselves in order to be able to help others(patients , colleagues). Moreover we watched a Ted x video about mental wellness and we addressed different types of issues that can occur in life. I felt was very interesting and useful to recognise different behaviours that people may have. The day concluded meeting Rosanna the student wellbeing officer for the university, that talked us about the services available for student wellbeing and she gave great advise on extra courses that we can possibly implement in our course. I am very proud of the week so far and once again I had a constructive day and cannot find any faults.
