Title of learning activity: A to E Assessment
Diary of Learning activity
During today’s class we spent time with Maria in the morning and Colin in the afternoon. The day started slightly slower compared to others due to the trains strike, some of the colleagues arrived a bit late. With maria we had a deep look at the structure of the assignment and we decided the topic to use in order to complete it. She also showed us an example written by a student in the previous cohort. We then split in 5 groups and had to come up with a score for the example she gave us, I thought that was a great activity because firstly we had a look at an example and also was a good opportunity to understand how she will score our exams. Overall the morning class was very good, I just think that after the initial excitement now that we are moving forward in the course everyone is a bit more tired and understands that working and studying it’s not as easy as we thought. After lunch we got back in class and we met Colin , which delivered a class based on his module Care Delivery. The topic of the day was A to E assessment, to me was extremely interesting because I never had the opportunity to experience it in practice. After the theorical explanation we moved to the clinical area and practice the assessment on the mannequins , they were all set up in different ways in order for us to come up with a diagnosis. I am very grateful to be taking part to this course and class after class I feel I am gaining ,more confidence. Overall has been another great learning day.
