Title of learning activity: Second Year day 2
Diary of Learning activity
During today’s class we started at 9:30 am, we spent the day with our new lecturer Joicy. Class was a bit quieter than normal due to many absences. We started the day talking about long term conditions. Joicy thoroughly explained the different types of conditions and stressed the importance of their pathophysiology. She also explained how important is to work evidence based, explained the importance and significance of integrated care. I thought morning session was good because was engaging and was an opportunity for us to share our experiences. After lunch the topic was the immune system. Throughout this lecture we understood the two categories of the system and understood the different components and their functions in the defence of the body. She stressed the importance of the inflammatory process and its 5 key features. She spoke about the structure of the system and the different cells that compose it. It was a very informative day, and I thought was great that we linked pathophysiology to the new module.
