I have gained a lot of knowledge on how to take care of the pre operative and Post-Operative patients in the surgical ward. I got the opportunities to follow a patient journey from pre-operative and post-operative during patient surgery . I was able to discharge patient safely with the supervision of the my mentor. During my placement on the surgical ward. I have increased my knowledge and Skills of admitting and prepare Patient for surgery. I had the opportunity to observe the following skills

• Robison Drain taken out,
• Bladder Irrigation wash ,
• Wound care management using Aseptic Technique
• Insertion of Male Catheterisation due to Retention.

I have gained a better understanding of documentation process from admission of patient, discharge and communication among Multidisciplinary team , while discharging a patient ensure everything is put in place for the safe discharge of patients such as by following the discharge check list. I have maintained professional values all the time that has helped me to receive positive feedback from the patients as well as from the staff members.
