I don’t believe my voice has changed over the course of this module, though it has enhanced over this period. If 4 months ago you asked me to merge horror with fairy tale, I would of cowered away from the task. So I believe My voice as a writer has development along with this module. Drawing on Ana Lily Amirpour’s 2014 movie A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, I was immediately inspired by her. Also the black and white visuals have always called to me.

Having to leave my comfort space and experiment with new ways abetted my writing and thinking process I followed the guidelines that were provide to the last letter, whilst still generating and including a person touch to it. There were many traces of Liliane in my work, from the honesty of including my influences to the concerts I attended to even a time-lapse of me removing my makeup at the end of the video. Choosing to include these clips allowed me to express what I am passionate about, in a way of some sort of mix of genres – myself and my university work.
Including the horror poem I made in week 3. Deciding to do a poem was totally out of my conform zone and the pregnancy of it inspired was influenced by real life events of these women in my life.
part 1
part 2
I decided to edit in my favourite album movies, If I can’t have love I want power and K-12 created by Halsey and Melanie Martinez and adapted all into a short film. By using the setting of a fairy tale, I was able to merge two genres together. Horror and fairy tale. The second part of the short film was to honour my favourite 30s movies like The Lodger and Passenger to London. The old fashioned vibes added onto the vintage aesthetic that I have always admired even the atrocious acting but that’s what I love most about these movies and it can never be replicated today.
