Goal

For the first scene that included dialogue, I wrote in script method as it is the easiest way for me to write dialogue. The piece was about pro-choice. I chose to write it about this subject because it was relevantly close to what my previous work has been about. Women’s bodies. Not naming my characters is something I have never done either, though it left me with so much room for interpretation.

Considering that the first scene was almost 100% dialogue, I assumed that part two would be perplexing but the second scene with the dialogue was surprisingly particularly so fun to write! Because I already had a scene that I was writing off of, it was simple for me to convert it to something without any dialogue.

I was heavily influenced by choreographers for this second scene. The way dancers can tell an entire story with just their bodies and the space they use around this has always fascinated me. Although I pondered how I would be able to express this through writing, many different factors aided me in this task. Such as using verbs rather than adjectives in this scene, including environments to provide metaphorical backdrops and dramatic possibilities and utilising objects to express power dynamics and inner motivation.
