E-Safety

For this weeks’ lecture, I have created a presentation on the importance of e-safety for children. The presentation is aimed at older children to understand why it is important that they stay safe online and how they can report issues that they may find disturbing.  It is important that we as adults understand that issues such as these are sensitive to young children and the opportunity to speak out about these can be difficult. It is because of this, children should know what to do if they don’t feel safe online. The internet should be a safe and fun place for pupils to develop, learn, socialise and broaden their understanding of the world, but due to some issues that can occur the safety of children online is imperative.

Child Exploitation and Online Protection

I would also like to mention the important of the work CEOP. Due to the presentation being short could not cover everything that I would like to say about them. CEOP are an online protection command that is run by the National Crime Agency and the police to deal with national online security issues in relation to children. It is really easy to add CEOP to any computer. Please watch the video below to find out how to add this to your computer.

Finally, if anyone is concerned about a child or their own child but are unsure how to present these issues to children; CEOP offer a select range of age related websites that tackle these matters in an appropriate if you have some spare time I recommend you check them out here: Click Link
